Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 2026/08/20
Last Updated: 2026/08/20
Skilluv ("Skilluv," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by MIN ORAI, an individual based in Japan. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use the Skilluv application and website at skilluv.app (the "Service").
Beta notice: Skilluv is currently in a free beta phase. No paid plans are offered at this time. References to payment processing below describe infrastructure that exists in our systems but is not yet active; this Policy will be updated before any paid plan launches.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you register, we collect your email address and authentication credentials (via Supabase Auth, and optionally Google Sign-In). We also store your language preference (English or Japanese).
1.2 Activity & Usage Data
We collect the activities, activity logs, timestamps, and related notes you enter into the Service in order to provide tracking, timelines, and summary features.
1.3 Payment Information
Skilluv does not currently offer any paid plan, and we do not collect payment information at this time. Our systems are integrated with Stripe, Inc. for future subscription billing; once paid plans launch, payments will be processed by Stripe, we will not store your full card details on our servers, and Stripe may collect billing name, address, and payment method information directly, subject to Stripe's own privacy policy. This Policy will be updated before that happens.
1.4 Communications
If you contact us (e.g., at contact@skilluv.app) or receive transactional emails from us (delivered via Resend), we retain that correspondence for support and record-keeping purposes.
1.5 Technical & Device Data
We may automatically collect limited technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, and general usage logs, for security, debugging, and service-reliability purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including activity logging, timelines, and dashboards;
- Generate AI-powered daily summaries and next-day suggestions based on your activity history (see Section 3);
- Process subscription payments and manage billing via Stripe, once paid plans are introduced;
- Send you transactional emails (e.g., account verification, password reset, billing notices) via Resend;
- Monitor, maintain, and improve the reliability, security, and performance of the Service;
- Respond to your support requests and communications;
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.
3. Use of AI Features
Skilluv uses the Anthropic API (Claude) to analyze your recent activity history in order to generate personalized daily summaries and suggested schedules. To provide this feature, relevant activity data (such as activity names, durations, and timestamps) is sent to Anthropic for processing. Anthropic processes this data solely to generate the requested output and according to its own data handling terms. AI-generated summaries and suggestions are provided for personal productivity purposes only and are not professional, medical, or psychological advice.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We rely on the following third-party service providers ("subprocessors") to operate the Service. Each provider processes data only as necessary to perform its function for us:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Authentication, database hosting, row-level security |
| Stripe | Subscription billing and payment processing |
| Vercel | Application hosting and scheduled (cron) jobs |
| Cloudflare | DNS and email routing |
| Resend | Transactional email delivery |
| Anthropic | AI-generated summaries and suggestions |
| Google (optional) | Sign-in via Google OAuth / Google Identity Services |
These providers may process data outside of Japan. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure an adequate level of protection consistent with applicable law.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account and activity data for as long as your account remains active, or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes.
6. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including access controls (Supabase row-level security), encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), and restricted service-role access to sensitive database operations. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate data;
- Request deletion of your data;
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format;
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@skilluv.app. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or a jurisdiction with similar data protection laws, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. If you are located in Japan, our handling of your personal information is intended to comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (個人情報保護法).
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
9. International Data Transfers
As a Japan-based service with a global user base, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States (where several of our subprocessors operate). We take steps to ensure such transfers comply with applicable data protection law.
10. Cookies & Similar Technologies
The Service may use essential cookies or similar technologies (e.g., for authentication sessions). We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy accordingly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date, and, for material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you (e.g., via email or in-app notice).
